Watch: Sharon Van Etten Unveils ‘Taking Chances’ Lyric Video
Watch Sharon pen words to her new song on blank paper. ‘Are We There’ is out in May.

It’s tiring work, being a musician. There’s the touring, the actual writing of songs, the interviews and the social media add-ons. Then there’s the newfound job of putting together a lyric video - Sharon Van Etten’s treated hers very seriously, hand-writing each word from her latest track, ‘Taking Chances’.
The song forms part of SVE’s new ‘Are We There’ album. With each word scrawled out on a blank piece of paper, some daft idiot smudges out the previous lyrics. Sharon has a tough task of writing over what’s essentially a smudge of watercolour by the end, but she’s not the kind to get overwhelmed by such a lofty job.
‘Are We There’ is released on 25th May via Jagjaguwar.
