Watch Sleater-Kinney, The War on Drugs, Interpol play BBC Radio 6 Music Festival, Tyneside
Catch up with performances from the opening day’s action.
Tyneside’s BBC Radio 6 Music festival kicked off last night with four sets at O2 Newcastle Academy.
An all-star bill saw Mogwai rounding off the action with a run through 2014 LP ‘Rave Tapes’ and the rest of their back catalogue.
They were joined by Sleater-Kinney, making first UK appearance since reforming with new album ‘No Cities to Love’.
Philadelphians The War on Drugs also performed - watch them play ‘Red Eyes’ from 2014’s ‘Lost in the Dream’, below.
Interpol were second from top on the bill - they performed ‘Anywhere’.

Day two of BBC Radio 6 Music Tyneside is set to host Hot Chip and Royal Blood at Hall 1, Sage Gateshead, with other highlights arriving from The Cribs, Jamie xx, Jungle and Kate Tempest.
Sunday night will feature performances from The Maccabees, Glass Animals, Jamie T and Neneh Cherry.
