Whenyoung unveil an acoustic version of ‘The Others’

The stripped back track packs an even more emotional punch.

Following the release of their May debut record ‘Reasons To Dream’, Irish trio Whenyoung have shared an acoustic version of record highlight ‘The Others’. Inspired by the Grenfell tragedy, Niall explains: “At this time Aoife was working as a gardener for well off clients in the area. The juxtaposition between these safe, affluent homes and the burning tower block streets away were startling and upsetting. Living in safety should not be a luxury.”

The new stripped down version of the track gives an even stronger sense of sadness and emotion, while maintaining the energy of the original version. Taken from their debut album, the group say of the record: “‘Reasons To Dream’ is a presentation of our collective experiences of life since we have moved to London. We’ve trundled through many jobs, flats, neighbourhoods and rehearsal rooms learning, practising, maturing and cultivating whatever it is we do along the way. We’ve gone from knowing nobody to making close friends, from finding it lonely to finding it welcoming.”
