One moment in time:
Whitney announce debut album ‘Light Upon the Lake’
The buzzy newcomers have also shared the lead single ‘Golden Days’.

Buzzy newcomers Whitney have wasted absolutely no time whatsoever in cracking on with their debut album - they’ve officially announced their first full-length ‘Light Upon the Lake’. It’s out on 3rd June via Secretly Canadian.
The Neu-approved rabble put out the ace single ‘No Woman’ at the beginning of this year, and less Houston and more Western, they’re shaping up into a serious band to watch.
Whitney’s core writing duo is former Unknown Mortal Orchestra member Julien Ehrlich, along with ex-Smith Westerns’ Max Kakacek. The band have also shared the lead single from ‘Light Upon the Lake’. Titled ‘Golden Days,’ it’s - on the surface, at least - a jauntier, more upbeat follow-up to ‘No Woman’. Look beyond those cheerfully stomping guitars, though, and it’s a bittersweet ode to lost memories and fast-moving time. As first glimpses go, it’s a doozy.
‘Golden Days’ also has a video to match, directed by Josiah Marshall & Frank Frankowski. Watch that below.
