Whitney have a surreal new animated video for ‘Polly’

It follows a cartoon man as he go-karts, and er…. wades through neck high sewage. Lovely stuff.

Whitney (the band, not the late pop singer) have shared a new video for ‘Polly’. The song appears on their debut album ‘Light Upon The Lake,’ which the Chicagoans released back in June.

The video took Tokyo-based animator Sarina Nihei two months to create, and it follows a lone man as he journeys through a slightly dystopian town filled with giant surreal-looking monsters, and sudden sewage explosions. Trotting down the street, he passes people shooting heroin, collapsing into pints, and huddling around dead pigeons. According to the band’s press release, it’s a nod to the vices that can trigger break-ups.

In November, Whitney kick off a UK tour, catch them in the following places.

NOVEMBER
03 Brighton, Haunt
04 Nottingham, Bodega Social Club
05 Glasgow, CCA
06 Newcastle, Cluny
08 Manchester, Gorilla
09 Bristol, Thekla
10 London, Koko
