William Arcane shares new single, ‘Stay A While’

South London producer William Arcane’s latest single is like a rolling stream of consciousness. ‘Stay A While’’s the kind of song that gets more complex as it continues, mimicking the busied thoughts of an insomniac, or the excitable build of conversation.

It’s the latest track to be unveiled by a project that’s gradually morphed from straight-down-the-line electronics to something that incorporates old school songwriting. Thom Yorke comparisons abound, and for good reason. There’s a flickering, bleep-centric routine to the electronics, and vocals always sound on the brink of breaking point.

Pictures Music (Koreless, Lapalux) releases ‘Stay A While’ this summer. Arcane is also currently in the studio with The Acid’s Steve Nalepa.
