Win Butler to play in all-star basketball game
Arcade Fire singer will play alongside Common for the charity event.
Win Butler has confirmed his inclusion for the NBA All-Star Celebrity Game, taking place 13th February at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. Butler will team up with rapper Common, and Kevin Hart, with one team coached by director Spike Lee.
Other celebrities involved in the charity event include Mo’ne Davis, Chadwick Boseman, Ansel Elgort, with New York Knicks player Carmelo Anthony standing in as opposition coach. Butler spoke with Billboard recently about his “game”, stating his excitement to play. He also revealed conversations with fellow Canadian Drake about his recent involvement on the court:
“We haven’t hung out much. I was trying to get him to play in my game, but I think he’s been nursing injuries.”
In September 2011, Butler played at a similar event in Toronto called ‘Rock The Court’, footage of which can be watched here. Read more of Butler’s conversation with Billboard here and watch the video for Arcade Fire’s ‘Reflektor’ below.
