Yo La Tengo To Be Subject Of New Band Biography
Influential lynchpins of American alt-rock to be immortalised in print in book released next week.

Prolific New Jersey act Yo La Tengo are to form the basis of a new book, due out on 5th June.
Aside from detailing the rise of the New Jersey band, ‘Big Day Coming: Yo La Tengo and the Rise of Indie Rock’ (written by journalist and WFMU DJ Jesse Jarnow) is also set to as act as ‘a sweepingly researched history of American indie rock,’ exploring its ‘legendary clubs, bands, zines, labels, record stores, college radio stations, fans, and pivotal figures,’ according to the book’s website.
Yo La Tengo are not the only American band set to get a biography though. Today sees the launch of ‘Too High To Die: Meet The Meat Puppets’ by Greg Prato. Taking the form of an oral history, the book features an all star cast of luminaries such as Ian McKaye (Fugazi, Minor Threat), Peter Buck (REM) and Henry Rollins. (Black Flag).
