remixing Attic Lights has turned out bizarrely. Mainly because it doesn’t sound really anything like either of them. Instead of having either an aggressive bite or gentle pop harmonies, this version of ‘Bring You Down’ has bubbling atmospheric synths and a heavily vocodered vocal that stays buried beneath the smooth electronic noises. The overall effect is somewhat hypnotic and being under three minutes long it’s gone almost before you’ve realised that it’s there and managed to grasp what it is.
Although it’s difficult to tap your feet due to the entire absence of any sort of drums the sub is pronounced enough that it stays safely away from ambient territory. The reason for it’s release therefore is also somewhat bizarre as Attic Lights currently don’t seem to have the fan base for such a remix to reach an audience that would most benefit from hearing this track. If decent electronica is your thing however this remix comes recommended.
