Muncie Girls impress at Reading 2016

‘From Caplan To Belsize’ came to the BBC Introducing stage.

The last time Muncie Girls played Reading and Leeds, they were housed on the Lock Up Stage. The punk stage is much more suitable for the Exeter band, but their billing today on the BBC Introducing stage is a sign of a band branching out.

The band’s debut album ‘From Caplan to Belsize’ brought in more textures to their strictly punk rock upbringing, and a slew of support tours across the year have shown them as a band for so many more than first thought.

Opening with a crushing one-two of ‘Respect’ and ‘Gone With The Wind’, the band’s intense touring schedule now sees them tight as a bolt.

Their biggest headline tour yet awaits in the autumn, and on today’s showing, bigger stages are there for the taking.
