Will Joseph Cook answers the hype in Reading 2016 set
A big splash of rain also helps the newbie’s cause
“This is mad,” Will Joseph Cook exclaims at the start of his set in the Festival Republic tent, after playing new single ‘Take Me Dancing’.
The newbie has a lot of momentum behind him, and today’s set at Reading 2016 won’t have hurt that at all. Far from simply blog-pop, Cook comes armed with a fully-formed band who take his promising songs to completely new levels.
His cause isn’t harmed by a sudden downpour, leading many more drenched souls into the back of the tent. They stick around once it dries up though, and bits of good fortune like these are what can draw people in to acts as new as Will Joseph Cook. Not that he needed it though - he’s more than capable on his own.
