ST. MARTiiNS deliver a dreamy leftfield pop gem on 'ur so pretty'

Every weekday, DIY’s new music know-it-all Neu brings you one essential new release to get obsessed with. Today’s Neu Pick comes from ST. MARTiiNS.

Meeting at the tender age of 12, childhood pals Katie Lynch and Mark Johnston have been knocking around together in hometown Dundee ever since.

Now, they’re releasing music under the moniker of ST. MARTiiNS and it’s this sense of easy rapport that categorises their latest offering - the woozy leftfield pop of ‘ur so pretty’.

Beginning in slow, dreamy fashion in the vein of DIY fave PIXX, the track builds into a laid back bop, its chorus full of Lynch’s honeyed vocal trills and spikes of distorted, underwater guitars. In the middle of a never-ending heatwave, kick back by a body of water, pop this on the headphones and let yourself drift away.

Listen to ‘ur so pretty’ below, and catch ST. MARTiiNS at the next instalment of Big Indie Big Nights at Two Tribes Brewery on August 8th.
