Mac DeMarco’s shoes finally sell for $21,100

Mac DeMarco’s knackered, offensively smelly tour shoes have sold on eBay, the listing finishing sat a grand figure of $21,100.

Picking up 168 bids in total, the item was listed with the tantalising description: “Will anyone buy an old stinky pair of shoes? I don’t know. lets wait and see. I’ll probably throw some other crap in the box before shipping it, I dunno what.” All proceeds are going to the Willie Mae Rock Camp for Girls, a charity that “empowers girls 8-18 through music education” and other activities

While selling stuff online, Mac also answered a few questions to fans on an unconventional eBay Q&A. One saw him replying to the statement “‘my mum thinks that you are a reckless hillbilly” before confirming that if you ate pie while wearing the shoe, it’d feel “so hot”.

He also confirmed that there’d be “hopefully new music soon” after his 2015 tour wrapped up.

If you have a scour through his previous eBay transactions, Mac recently left feedback on an item called “Cole From DIIV’s Sleeping Mask”.
