Mikey Way’s Electric Century unveil new song
‘Let You Get Away’ is the second single from the former My Chemical Romance bassist’s new band
Electric Century, the band that Mikey Way co-founded with Sleep Station vocalist David Debiak, have unveiled a new song. ‘Let You Get Away’ follows on from their first offering ‘I Lied’, which was released last year, and looks set to be an indicator of a future debut album, expected to be released later this year.
In an open later released back in November, Way said, “Electric Century started because I still had something I wanted to share with the world. I wanted it to be a special project that showed another side of me, and told a story I had wanted to tell for quite some time.”
According to an interview with MTV back in February last year, the duo was originally conceived in a seventh-grade science class after writing ‘Electric Century’ on a notebook, Mikey Way spoke with David Debiak about coming together to make music during a planned break after touring ‘The Black Parade’ with My Chemical Romance. The break never happened, but conversations about the music did.
‘Let You Get Away’ is a dreamy slice of American rock, all neon lights and dark alleyways. You can listen to it below.
Mikey Way isn’t the only former member of My Chemical Romance to release new music recently: guitarist Roy Toro recently shared the track ‘For The Lost And Brave’.
