Brand New unveil ‘Mene’, their first new material in six years
The four-piece promised to unveil their newest musical offering this Wednesday.
It’s official: there is new Brand New music in the world. After a week’s worth of tentative, ‘Will they? Won’t they?’ after the band showcased a new track live at a show last week, the full recorded version of ‘Mene’ has now appeared online.
Earlier today, it was reported that the Long Island-based quartet would be unveiling the full version of the track this Wednesday (15th April) but now it’s appeared alongside a video player on what looks to be drummer Brian Lane’s SquareSpace page. The clip accompanying the track follows a series of chaotic clips from their recent touring stints, and the track has been uploaded to Soundcloud, which you can listen to below. Fans can also download the track from the website.
Their newest material - the first to emerge since the band released their fourth album ‘Daisy’ back in 2009 - was first showcased live during their show in Denver last week, and was originally titled - on the band’s setlist - as ‘Don’t Feel Anything’.
‘Mene’ is set to be officially released on 15th April and is due out via Procrastinate! Music Traitors. News of the group’s fifth album is yet to be confirmed.
Update: ‘Mene’ is available on iTunes now.
