Radical Boy debut new ‘Summer Resort’ track

Song is taken from a split w/ pjaro on Tye Die Tapes.

“I’m the king of apathy / I don’t know what’s wrong with me,” are the closing words to Sheffield duo Radical Boy’s ‘Summer Resort’, and they have a particular prominence today, when everyone’s trying to scramble round and make sense of what the fuck just happened.

This isn’t a frustation-fuelled, reactionary call to arms penned in the last 24 hours, mind you. It’s taken from a forthcoming split 7” with fellow Sheffield band pjaro, due out in June via DIY label Tye Die Tapes.

On ‘Summer Resort’, each direct, snapping lyric can be taken on its own and used to create its own story. “It’s not necessarily your fault I’m dead and buried,” the noise-pop duo chant, letting romance and despair do the talking in a crazed, fuzz-soaked dance.

DIY’s got the first play of ‘Summer Resort’ below. Pre-order the new 7” here.
