The Horrors are “hoping to release a new record this year”

The Horrors are currently recording a new album, due out towards the end of 2015, they’ve confirmed.

Speaking to Clash, the band’s Rhys Webb says that sessions have been taking place with producer Paul Epworth. “We’re actually working on a new album at the moment. So we’re not really having any downtime,” says Webb. “We’re writing and recording. Hoping to release a new record this year.”

Continuing, he says: “We wanted to get back in there and get writing. We had a really busy year of touring, so we were ready to get working on new stuff .” The band are itching to focus 100% on recording, a year on from releasing 2014’s ‘Luminous’. “It’s just because time flies, and it moves so quickly and before you know it, it will be a couple of years between releases.”

This summer sees The Horrors playing Standon Calling, Forgotten Fields and Kendal Calling. Catch up with DIY’s 2014 The Horrors cover feature.
