Is this confirmation The Libertines are playing Glastonbury’s empty Friday slot?

The band are favourites to take up Florence’s previous spot, second on the Pyramid stage bill.

Is this confirmation The Libertines are playing Glastonbury's empty Friday slot?

As you might know, readers, there’s been a right fiasco with Glastonbury’s Friday night schedule. After Dave Grohl broke his leg, Foo Fighters pulled out of Glastonbury 2015, and Florence + The Machine stepped into the headliner shoes, it left a big gap on the schedule. Emily Eavis gave a few vague clues regarding the replacement. The act hasn’t played on the Pyramid stage before, and they’re not already on the bill.

Now it looks to have been confirmed - The Libertines are playing the Pyramid Stage before headliner Florence + The Machine. Stepping up to fill the main stage’s 20:20 - 21:30 slot tonight (26th June) it’ll be the band’s first time on the Pyramid. Music producer and engineer, Simon Askew who’s working on the stage today tweeted a picture of this evening’s running order, taped above the mixing desk.

On it, “Albion” is listed between “Motorhead” and “Flo” - and there’s only one thing that can mean…

It could all be an elaborate hoax, mind you. Watch this space.
