FKA twigs releases ‘M3LL155X’ EP, airs five self-directed videos

FKA twigs has unveiled her new EP ‘M3LL155X’ in full, coupled with five self-directed videos all streaming now.

Following on from 2014’s Mercury Prize-nominated ‘LP1’, twigs’ new EP consists of five tracks, including the previously-unveiled ‘Figure 8’ and ‘Glass & Patron’. Each song comes with its own video, which when segued together portray a narrative of being “pregnant with pain, birthing creativity and liberation.”

Speaking to Annie Mac, twigs says the EP title is “a way of me objectifying a female strength that I’ve been in touch with a lot. It’s not an alter-ego… It was more just a way of me separating myself from it - ‘How would Mellissa feel?’”

New song ‘In Time’ has just been premiered as a Hottest Record on Annie Mac’s Radio 1 show. The full EP sees twigs collaborating with tic, Cy An and BOOTS - read what the latter told DIY about the creative process here.
