Barack Obama names Kendrick Lamar song as his favourite track of 2015
Meanwhile, Michelle is a big fan of ‘Uptown Funk’.
In a new interview with People Magazine, U.S. president Barack Obama has named a Kendrick Lamar track as his favourite of this year. His song of choice is ‘How Much a Dollar Cost’ - from Kendrick’s latest record ‘To Pimp a Butterfly’. First lady Michelle Obama, meanwhile, is a massive fan of some fairly niche Mark Ronson song called ‘Uptown Funk’.
Who knows whether Obama is actually a fan, or whether he’s just got some very ‘on it’ music advisors. He certainly isn’t the only politician trying to display music taste with ‘indie credentials’. Earlier this year Samantha Cameron claimed that she listens to BBC Radio 6 “all day long” (for the full 24 hours would be a bit tiring, tbh) and even braved the serfs one time to attend a Poliça gig in Shoreditch.
Still, there remains no topping Deputy Leader of the Labour Party Tom Watson’s resignation letter to Ed Miliband. He recommended the then-leader go listen to Drenge.
Listen to Barack’s fave jam below.
