Charli XCX and Lil Yachty team up on ‘After the Afterparty’
Hear Charli’s first new track since the ‘Vroom Vroom’ EP.
Charli XCX has unveiled ‘After the Afterparty’, a brand new SOPHIE-produced track featuring rapper Lil Yachty.
Streaming below, the track is a squeaky-clean separation from 2014 album ‘Sucker’. Both acts teamed up based on Lil Yachty’s love of that LP. “I was like, ‘whoa, that’s cool ’cus I like, hate that album now, so it’s cool that he likes it,” Charli told Beats 1’s Zane Lowe. Speaking about how the track came together, she said: “It was a random session with friends hanging out. We wrote a lot of songs… And SOPHIE got involved in the production down the line.”
The track follows Charli’s ‘Vroom Vroom’ EP, which included more SOPHIE collaborations and came out via her own Vroom Vroom Recordings.
