Charli xcx drops new 'Music, Fashion, Film' preview 'Wink Wink' • News • DIY Magazine

Charli xcx has continued teasing her much-anticipated forthcoming album ‘Music, Fashion, Film’ - named after her three primary passions - with a playfully provocative new cut, ‘Wink Wink’.

It follows ‘Rock Music’ and ‘SS26’ to be our third taste of what to expect from the LP, which will be Charli’s first album proper since 2024’s cultural reset of a record, ‘brat’ (between then and now, she’s also penned ‘Wuthering Heights’, the soundtrack to Emerald Fennell’s recent film adaptation of the Gothic classic).

Clocking in at just over two minutes, ‘Wink Wink’ is a short but sweet slice of guitar-driven smut pop, and has arrived alongside an aptly tongue-in-cheek music video - directed by Aidan Zamiri - which wryly draws on hyper-sexualised female stereotypes to playfully invert expectations of a modern day pop girl.
