Delorean Reported Safe After ‘Virtual Kidnapping’ In Mexico City

Basque four-piece Delorean have reportedly escaped a kidnapping in Mexico City - a ‘virtual kidnapping’, to be precise. They arrived in the country to perform at Mutek festival, having last been spotted at the city’s Four Points hotel on Sunday 6th October, SPIN reports.

Members of the family were contacted in Guipuzkoa, Spain, by unidentified kidnappers who demanded a ransom. Family members were left to worry for two days. A report in El Pais states that ‘the police have determined that the musicians are in good shape and at liberty after having suffered a virtual kidnapping.’

However, the same report adds that ‘as of 3 p.m. their whereabouts are still unknown, as are any details regarding their movements over the past two days.

John Talabot and Pional have since announced that they’re putting a stop to their Mexican tour. ‘We are canceling our tour in Mexico for security reasons,’ stated Talabot’s Twitter.
