Lucy Dacus offers up self-directed video for ‘Planting Tomatoes’

Richmond, VA singer Lucy Dacus has returned to her hometown to make her new, self-directed video for recent single ‘Planting Tomatoes’.

Shared as part of an exclusive Record Store Day 7” which was released back in April, the track follows up the release of last year’s ‘Forever Is A Feeling’ LP and her more recent double single ‘Bus Back To Richmond’ / ‘More Than Friends’. 

The serene, carefree clip sees Lucy visit some of her favourite local spots, including Dogwood Dell, Hollywood Cemetery, James River Park Pony Pasture and more, and boasts a host of appearances from her own friends and family, helping to emphasise the song’s message of staying present and appreciating the little things in life. The video was filmed by local production team SpangTV alongside creative director Jordan Rodericks, who’d previously worked on Lucy’s ‘Hot & Heavy’ clip.

As well as a special local screening of the video and Q&A with Lucy - which will take place at Richmond’s The Byrd Theatre on 30th July - the singer has a handful of upcoming live shows across North America this summer.
