Listen: James Blake Shares ‘40455’ Track On Radio 1 Residency
James’s first show on R1 also contained a spoof” Burial interview.”

The highlight of James Blake’s first ever Radio 1 Residency was a fake Burial interview, hinted at in previous Facebook posts (according to FACT). Phil Taggart - who hosted a show ahead of James Blake - also stated that Burial would be appearing. But none of it happened.
Instead, James asked the perennial question (‘are you Four Tet?’) and backed it up with fake film quotes, and he made up for all this pranking around by sharing a new song, ‘40455’. An extension of the Mercury Prize winning ‘Overgrown’, it’s a pensive, building standalone take. Listen below (and check out the fake Burial interview for proof of James Blake’s spoofing skills).
There’s more. He also shared edits of Beyonce’s ‘Drunk In Love’ and Mystikal x Mannie Fresh’s ‘Pay Me’. Listen to everything below.
