James Blake introduces new album 'Trying Times' with resonant lead single 'Death Of Love'

Former DIY cover star James Blake is back with the news that his seventh album, the aptly-titled ‘Trying Times’, will be released on 13th March via Good Boy Records.

The product of living in a world of constant stimulation, distraction, and overwhelm, the record promises to explore the particular pressures of modern life, existing on the knife edge between personal and public, comfort and unease, interiority and exposure.

It follows Blake’s last album, ‘Playing Robots Into Heaven’ (which came out back in 2023), as well as his recent collaborations with Lil Yachty, Dave (on the rapper’s BRIT-nominated LP ‘The Boy Who Played The Harp’), and Ludwig Göransson, the composer for the score of Ryan Coogler’s Oscar-nominated film Sinners.

You can hear ‘Trying Times’ for yourself - brought to life to stunning effect with the help of the London Welsh Men’s Choir - below.

1. Walk Out Music
2. Death Of Love
3. I Had A Dream She Took My Hand
