Listen: Sam Smith Unveils New Single, ‘Money On My Mind’

Freshly announced as part of BBC’s 2014 Sound Of… Poll, Sam Smith’s fast becoming a dead cert for solo success. ‘Money On My Mind’ is the lead single and opening track on a debut album - out in May, details TBA - and it sounds pretty huge.

The track premiered as Zane Lowe’s Hottest Record on Radio 1. Sam’s called it a riposte to an experience he had ‘with the music industry this year’, which is pretty interesting. What’s even more interesting is the way he somehow manages to make his voice sound like an actual airhorn in the chrous. Listen out for that.

Two Inch Punch produces the track - the two first collaborated on ‘Safe With Me’.
