Watch: Halls Announces New Album ‘Love To Give’, Streams ‘Forelsket’

Samuel Howard aka Halls released a debut album last year - titled ‘Ark’ - that gave beauty to sore and twisted truths. What was dark on the surface was channelled to sound like a source of hope. Set in church halls and grand, echoey surroundings, it made for an emotional wrench of a debut.

He’s following it up with ‘Love To Give’, a second album that’s due out in 2014 via No Pain In Pop. Lead track ‘Forelsket’ hones in at the same tender, chamber-echo expression that Sam latched onto for his debut. This time, however, he backs it all up with a wild crescendo of detuned, skittering horns and the kind of foreboding guitar crashes that’d knock the church walls down rather than nestling up to glass windows and religious monuments.
