Watch: Janelle Monáe Unveils ‘Dance Apocalyptic’ Video

She’s knocked a man out with her eyelashes alone, apparently, and Janelle Monáe’s new ‘Electric Lady’ persona gains her most vivid impression yet with the video for ‘Dance Apocalyptic’.

Beginning like a tribute to Outkast’s ‘Hey Ya’, visually, the Wendy Morgan-directed video progresses into something suitably out-of-this-world, with Monáe taking on the role of weather-forecaster, predicting future zombie invasions and locusts impressing themselves on Detroit.

The video’s taken from a more extended film titled ‘The Dance Apocalyptic’.

‘The Electric Lady’ is out 9th September in the UK, 10th in North America.
