Features The Neu Bulletin (14th November 2012)
Parakeet and Triad God form part of Neu’s daily round-up of all things new music.
Every day of the week, Neu gives you a choice show and a selection of new music tips, all in the name of exposing you to something new and exciting.
THE GIG
Parakeet support DIIV - London’s Garage
The band behind one of 2012’s most astonishing debuts joins forces with a band potentially behind one of next year’s triumphs. Mariko Doi and co. join Brooklyn’s DIIV on their quest around the country, sporting their recent ‘Shonen Hearts’ EP, as well as a few hints, we’re sure, of all things 2013.
THE SONG
N/V/Adj - Everything’s Not Perfect
True to their name, these guys will have you spitting out every noun, verb and adjective in your limited vocabulary, in an attempt to give this song the justice it deserves. A queasy sounding guitar hook overlooks a mechanical background of thrashing percussion and bedroom pop furore. The two-piece are releasing ‘Everything’s Not Perfect’ as a free download on Oddbox Records. Fans of Micachu and the Shapes, Crash & The ‘Coots will adore this.
OTHER NEU BUSINESS
Recently profiled New Cross rapper Triad God has unveiled another taste of his truly excellent ‘NXB’ (New Cross Boys) mixtape. On this occasion he drops his Vietnamese tongue in favour of half-sung, half-spoken English lyrics. It makes for a stark, eye-opening track; exposing an entirely new side to the Hippos In Tanks signee.
