THE GIG
Royal Blood - Glasgow, Nice N Sleazy
Nothing like a bit of monarchical DNA eh? Royal Blood are a fierce Brighton duo, currently doing the rounds of a debut UK headline tour. Their latest ‘Out Of The Black’ track is enough to send fuzzy ripples across the country, starting in Glasgow.
THE SONG
DNKL - Hunt [DIY Premiere]
The bright-eyed bleeps that circuit around Swedish trio DNKL’s debut track ‘Hunt’, like fireflies searching for the sky, are all there is to go on in terms of tangible clues about the band’s intentions. Shrouded in smoke and reserved about giving away their identities, they’re letting an ode to late-nights do the talking. ‘Hunt’ is a bleary eyed, 4am triumph, blissfully unaware of how beautiful its isolation and saddened glow truly is.
OTHER NEU BUSINESS
Sirs - Imposter
Backing up a 2012 self-titled debut that went under many a radar, Sirs are sharpening their hooks, launching in with some hardcore-rooted heady noise that’d circuit bar brawls just as much as a happy feet house party. ‘Imposter’ is a riotous sprint through convention after convention, knocking each one down like a bowling pin.
Sirs’ self-titled EP is up for pre-order on Bandcamp.
