A new System of a Down album could be in the works

In a new interview discussing the band’s ‘Wake Up The Souls’ tour, commemorating 100 years since the Armenian Genocide, System of a Down’s Serj Tankian has revealed there may be a follow-up to 2005’s ‘Hypnotize’.

“There has been talk,” he told Rolling Stone. “we are going to play this tour, come back and we’re going to see where we are. If we have songs that work for System, if I have them and Daron [Malakian, guitar] has them. The openness is there to work together, but we haven’t made any particular plans that we can announce.”

The band’s tour begins on 6th April in Inglewood, CA, and includes a date at Wembley Arena in London on 10th April, before heading to mainland Europe.

It also includes a date in Armenia itself. The Republic Square concert on 23rd April will be the first time the Armenian-American band have played the country - though Serj himself has performed solo there previously.

The tour calls at:

10 London SSE Arena Wembley
13 Cologne Lanxess Arena
14 Lyon Halle Tony Garnier
16 Vorst Nationaal
17 Amsterdam Ziggo Dome
