Adele’s ‘25’ is the biggest selling Number 1 album of all time

In what will surely go down as a shock victory for the ages, Adele’s number one this week. Who’d have thunk it?

Not content with just having a normal number one like everyone else does, though, she’s also sold the most copies ever for any number one with a so-incomprehendably-massive-it’s-basically-nothing-more-than-digits-at-this-stage final figure of 800,307 copies of ‘25’ sold. So well done Adele. That’s more than the rest of the Top 75 combined this week. Which is frankly RIDICULOUS. It’s also sold more than the last 19 Number 1 albums in the UK combined. Which is LOADS.

It beats the previous record holders Oasis, who sold 696,000 copies of ‘Be Here Now’ to claim the title. Sorry, Noel.
