Adele’s ’25’ sells one million copies in record time

A few days on from breaking the 800k first week sales record, Adele’s ’25’ is now the fastest album to ever sell a million copies.

Ten days on from its 20th November release, ’25’ reached the million mark seven days prior to Oasis’ 1997 album ‘Be Here Now’, which took seventeen days.

’25’ has also leapfrogged Ed Sheeran’s ‘X’ into being the biggest-selling album of 2015. It’s currently top of the midweeks, with Elvis Presley’s ‘If I Can Dream’ at Number 2 and Justin Bieber’s ‘Purpose’ at 3.

The Vamps are on course to score the highest new entry, their second album ‘Wake Up’ landing at Number 5. The Corrs’ comeback LP ‘White Light’ is currently at Number 8.
