Algiers share a hard-hitting new video for ‘Cleveland’
They’ve also announced a huge UK and European tour for November!
Recently, Algiers released their politically-charged new album ‘The Underside of Power’, one of the highlights of which was ‘Cleveland’, a gospel, techno and soul-infused number that was both a reference and a tribute to Tamir Rice, who was shot and killed by police in 2014.
The track’s new video is therefore typically hard-hitting. Shot almost entirely in fuzzy filters, it intersperses footage of frontman Franklin James Fisher with archival footage, creating a frenzied look at the state of the world.
As well as sharing the video, the band have also announced a blimmin’ huge European tour that’s set to take place this November. As well as travelling across the continent, they’ll be making stops at Manchester, Liverpool, Glasgow, Leeds, London and Brighton towards the end of the tour itself. Tickets are on sale now.
Watch the video for ‘Cleveland’ and see Algiers’ upcoming European tour dates via the tour poster below.
