Alt-J preview new album with ‘Every Other Freckle’

Alt-J are sharing another goofy, daring take from their forthcoming second album ‘This Is All Yours’.

‘Every Other Freckle’ is a strange-as-it-get highlight from the record. It contains the lyric: “I wanna turn you inside out and lick you like a crisp packet,” and that’s a nice summation of just how batshit crazy this song happens to be.

It links up with ‘Left Hand Free’ and ‘Hunger of the Pine’ in previewing the new album, due out 22nd September via Infectious Music.

Earlier in the year, Alt-J told DIY to expect an adventurous follow-up to the Mercury Prize winning ‘An Awesome Wave’. “Some of the songs have been around even before the release of the first album, and others have been alive for a couple months. There’s a really broad mix of time periods going on, which is good because naturally they’re gonna sound different to each other. The recordings happened quite quickly but the ideas behind the songs had come about over the last few years.”
