Last month, ANOHNI announced plans to release a companion EP
to last year’s ‘Hopelessness’, ‘Paradise’, which comes out on 17th March.
Hudson Mohawke and Oneohtrix Point Never continue to
collaborate on the collection, and the six tracks are “seek[ing] to
support activist conversations and disrupt assumptions about popular music
through the collision of electronic sound and highly politicized lyrics”.
At the time, ANOHNI shared the title track of the EP, and it’s
now been accompanied by a typically striking and contemplative new video
directed by Colin Whitaker. It stars visual artist and model Eliza Douglas as
she sits motionless behind a car and in front of a screen, where natural images
are projected on to her. Aptly, some of the images are of New York’s Paradise
Garage club. See what they did there?
