Looks like Aphex Twin is playing Field Day 2017
Flyers handed out at today’s Independent Label Market appear to confirm the producer’s appearance.
The first name for next year’s Field Day festival in London seems to have been revealed, and it’s a cracker.
Flyers handed out at today’s Independent Label Market in London (below) look to have confirmed Aphex Twin’s appearance at the Victoria Park bash. Bearing the crumpled up face of producer Richard James - as made famous by the hubbub surrounding 2014 album ‘Syro’ - the pocket-sized print-outs feature scratchcard-like sections which, once rubbed off, reveal the Aphex Twin logo, the date 03-06-17, and the twitter handle for @fielddaylondon. That’s that, then.
Next month, Aphex Twin plays his first US date in 8 years at Hoston’s Day For Night festival, and back in June he released the ‘Cheetah’ EP.
Earlier this week, Field Day blanked out all their social media, presumably hinting that an announcement was incoming - expect ‘official’ confirmation on Monday, then.
