Arcade Fire’s Win Butler covers ‘Born In The USA’ in the run up to US Election Day
The anti-war Bruce Springsteen classic got an airing at Jam The Vote.
Win Butler of Arcade Fire covered ‘Born In The USA’ this weekend, at New York’s Jam The Vote concert.
Taking to the stage alongside an all-star line-up, the singer declared, “I want to thank all the immigrants. We need more of you… I want to thank everyone who came to America to make it the country that it is - thank you,” before diving into the Bruce Springsteen classic, which he previously covered back in August alongside his Arcade Fire cohorts.
Arcade Fire reportedly played new material from their ‘Reflektor’ follow-up at a tiny New Orleans show last week, before recording the crowd’s singing at that city’s Voodoo Experience festival for use on that next album. Earlier this morning, they were announced as headliners for next year’s Isle Of Wight Festival.
Watch the performance back below, around 3:15:00. The US Election takes place tomorrow - if you’re Stateside, make sure you go and vote.
