Arcade Fire’s Win Butler and Régine Chassagne cover Talking Heads’ ‘Slippery People’ with Mavis Staples
The performance took place in Chicago at Staples’ 75th birthday celebration.
Many celebrities and artists honoured the R&B star Mavis Staples’s birthday this week, including Bonnie Raitt, Otis Clay, Glen Hansard, Ryan Bingham and Gregg Allman.
As well as covering ‘Slippery People’, Butler, Chassagne and Staples were joined by the rest of the night’s performers to give a special rendition of The Band’s ‘The Weight’.

Arcade Fire previously played with Staples in Chicago in August and performed Staple Singers’ classic ‘This Could Be The Last Time’ as well as The Rolling Stones’ hit ‘The Last Time’.
The band’s Will Butler also recently announced plans for his first solo album.
