After announcing that her second album ‘My Soft Machine’ will be out on 26th May via Transgressive Records, Arlo Parks is sharing her latest single ‘Impurities’. “It’s about being around people who make you feel like your inner ugliness and failures and mistakes don’t matter, who lift you up and make you laugh, who make you feel good and clean,” Arlo says of the single, which was co-produced by Arlo, Carter Lang and Brockhampton’s Romil Hemnani. The new track is accompanied by a video directed by Jak Payne. Speaking about the visual, Arlo says, “With this visualiser I really wanted to convey this atmospheric oscillation between solitude and companionship - I wanted to show how being around your people really does feel like coming home. When I was writing this song I had been thinking about Gus Van Sant a lot and how he captures people in all their fragility and beauty and ugliness - Jak was instrumental in creating/protecting that sense of softness.” Check out new track ‘Impurities’ below. ‘My Soft Machine’ Tracklisting: 1.Bruiseless 2.Impurities 3.Devotion 4.Blades 5.Purple Phase 6.Weightless 7.Pegasus ft.
