Barry Can’t Swim shares summer single ‘All My Friends’ ahead of All Points East headline

Barry Can’t Swim has released his brand new single, ‘All My Friends’. The summery new track arrives just ahead of his new album, ‘Loner’ coming 11th July via Ninja Tune.

The mellow new song has a distinctly relaxed feel to it, showing off his versatility in comparison to recent double singles, the fast-paced ‘About to Begin’, and softer track ‘Cars Pass By Like Childhood Sweethearts’. These followed album teasers, ‘The Person You’d Like To Be’ and fan favourite, ‘Different’ which were released earlier this year.

The electronic artist is set for a huge summer with his debut headline festival performance soon to take place at All Points East at Victoria Park on Friday 22nd August. The event will see him play alongside acts like Confidence Man, Orbital and Shygirl. He’ll also be performing at Bristol’s FORWARDS festival and this weekend’s Glastonbury festival.

Barry Can’t Swim explained some of the inspiration behind the new album, ‘Loner’ in his feature for DIY’s 2025 festival guide cover. “If I’m honest, I’ve been a bit hesitant whether to just tell the truth about the album title,” he says in the feature. “Because I just fucking hate it when people who have everything going for them say ‘my life is so hard’.”

Nevertheless, he admits, “over the last year I started to feel quite distant from myself. In order for me to process everything and deal with the imposter syndrome that came with having to step onto a stage in front of loads of people, I detached from what I was really doing.”
