Barry Can't Swim shares new track 'Kimpton' • News • DIY Magazine

Just a few weeks on from announcing details of his new album, Barry Can’t Swim has shared another taste of it.

His newest cut ‘Kimpton’ features London producer O’Flynn, and is a warm, uplifting offering that was one of the first tracks to be finished for the album. It follows on from previous singles ‘Different’ and ‘The Person You’d Like To Be’ as the third preview of his forthcoming second album ‘Loner’, which is due for release on 11th July via Ninja Tune.

Speaking about ‘Loner’ - which continues on from his 2022 Mercury Prize-shortlisted debut ‘When Will We Land?’ - Barry has said: “If my first album was a collage of all the music I loved and was inspired by growing up, then this album is the most authentic expression I could offer of myself and my life over the past year.”

The album is set to land in the midst of a run of festival shows that include performances at NOS Alive, Rock Werchter, Rock En Seine and All Points East, amongst many others.
