Barry Can’t Swim confirms second album ‘Loner’
The breakout DJ and producer has also shared a new single, ‘Different’, to mark the occasion.

Barry Can’t Swim has announced that his second album, ‘Loner’, will arrive on 11th July via Ninja Tune, having previewed the release a few days ago by way of recent single ‘The Person You’d Like To Be’.
The Edinburgh-born DJ and producer has become one of electronic music’s brightest stars over the past couple of years, during which he’s delivered countless stand-out shows (including three sold-out nights at London’s Brixton Academy and a feted Glastonbury set), and nabbed a Mercury Prize nomination for 2023’s ‘When Will We Land?’.
Now, he’s formally introduced his next chapter with latest track ‘Different’ - a driving, dancefloor-ready cut that’s already a fan-favourite staple in Barry’s live sets, and which will doubtless go down well with crowds at his upcoming All Points East headliner.
Speaking about ‘Loner’, Barry has shared: “If my first album was a collage of all the music I loved and was inspired by growing up, then this album is the most authentic expression I could offer of myself and my life over the past year.”
