Bastille's Dan Smith shares Part Two of new project '&'

Bastille frontman Dan Smith has unveiled the second part of his forthcoming new project ‘&’ (or ‘Ampersand’) - a collection of tracks inspired by noteworthy historical figures that’s due for full release on 25th October via the band’s moniker Bastille Presents.

The first four tracks making up part one of the album arrived back in July, and now they’ve been joined by two more: ‘Blue Sky & The Painter’, inspired by the expressionist artist Edvard Munch’s experience of depression; and ‘Leonard & Marianne’, which takes Leonard Cohen and his great love Marianne Ihlen as its subjects.

What’s more, Dan has also announced details of ‘MUSES: An Ampersand Project’ - a podcast launching on 18th September which will see Dan and academic/podcaster Emma Nagouse dig into the stories and people on which ‘&”s songs are based.

You can watch the video for ‘Blue Sky & The Painter’ - filmed in the middle of the Sargasso Sea on Dan’s recent trip with Greenpeace - and check out the full tracklist for ‘&’ below.
