Bastille reveal video for new track ‘Bad_News’
The four-piece revealed their newest musical offering last week.
Last week, that chart-bothering foursome Bastille released a brand new track in the form of ‘bad_news’ and now they’ve showcased its accompanying video.
Premiered by Huw Stephens on his BBC Radio 1 show last Thursday, the newest original track from the band also doubles as the b-side on their forthcoming ‘Oblivion’ single - the video for which was released last month.
‘bad_news’ itself is a more outwardly synth-based affair than Bastille are ordinarily recognised for, and feels that bit closer to chill wave vibes than multiplatinum pop. It’s an intriguing direction that works to showcase their versatility perfectly.
The new video matches its ominous title, with a stream of horror movie segments and creepy clips tied together by faded clips of frontman Dan Smith himself, and that almost-iconic stretch of road, as taken from their ‘Bad Blood’ artwork.
Watch the video below. ‘Oblivion’ is released on 8th September.
