Baxter Dury revels in other people’s misfortune on new cut ‘Schadenfreude’
The enigmatic artist’s next album, ‘Allbarone’, lands next month.

Baxter Dury has turned to continental dance music for inspiration for latest single ‘Schadenfreude’ - a pulsing, wryly humorous track that arrives ahead of the enigmatic artist’s forthcoming album ‘Allbarone’ (due out on 12th September via Heavenly Recordings).
‘Schadenfreude’ is the third single to be lifted from ‘Allbarone’ (following the title track and ‘Return Of The Sharp Heads’), and was created at what Baxter has termed “Paul Epworth’s palatial studio” with the help of, erm, “cocaine daleks”…
Continuing, he has shared: “as soon as we had the backing track, it remained on loop, played through these giant bespoke speakers that looked like Cocaine Daleks. It has this optimistic, pulsating French dance feel compromised by this slightly over-honest fragile man lyric. Schadenfreude.”
