Baywaves deliver sun-kissed indie-pop on ‘Gliss’

It’s the first release from the Spanish band this year.

After releasing their debut EP ‘Only For Uz’ last year (produced by King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard’s guitarist Joe Walker no less), Madrid-based indie-pop quartet Baywaves are back with their first track of the year.

‘Gliss’ is officially released on the Spanish label Foehn Records on 30th June (that’s this Friday!) Recorded at Montreal Studios, it’s also been mixed by Jarvis Taveniere, who’s worked with King Gizzard, Real Estate and Woods. That probably explains why the track combines upbeat yet lilting and jangly riffs with a bit of a psychedelic, warped edge. With tracks like this, they’re right to self-style themselves as “hipnopop”.

If you can’t get enough of the band’s summery jangle-pop then there’s a chance to see them live at a headline show in the UK this summer. They’ll be playing at The Waiting Room in Stoke Newington on Thursday 6th July. Yep, that’s next week.
