Beach Slang are releasing an EP of reworked tracks under the name Quiet Slang

When they’re not busy being a part of Green Day’s BST Hyde Park gig, recently Beach Slang leader James Alex has been performing solo, going under the name Quiet Slang (see what he did there?)

Now he’s announced that Quiet Slang will be releasing a brand new EP of reworked Beach Slang tracks. Called ‘We Were Babies & We Were Dirtbags’, it’s on 20th October and as a taster, he’s shared a new version of ‘Bad Art & Weirdo Ideas’, originally taken from the band’s 2015 album ‘The Things We Do To Find People Who Feel Like Us’.

As you might expect from a project with the word “quiet” in there, it’s quite a bit less raucous than Beach Slang’s usual output, with this version of the track being drenched in strings and glimmering piano melodies, James’ voice gliding over the top.
