Beirut share ‘When I Die’ video

The band’s UK tour in support of new album ‘Gallipoli’ begins tonight (10th April).

Beirut are set to begin a UK tour in support of their new album ‘Gallipoli’ tonight (10th April), and have shared a new video in advance.

The new video, for ‘When I Die’, is based around a fictional suicide cult, and sees the band test each other’s boundaries with a series of experiments, set inside a Futuro 13 House in Berlin.

The video’s director Brody Condon explains a little more about the new visual: “After the psychosomatic session that inspired the Gallipoli cover art, I ran another session with Zach to guide a new video for ‘When I Die’.

“Something was missing. Later I learned the song was loosely about a fictional suicide cult, so I facilitated a group encounter with the band before their show in Berlin. I was surprised by their willingness to test each other’s boundaries, and spontaneously embody elements of Zach’s inner zone. They told me these intimate processes didn’t feel so differently from what they already do on stage.”
